16th Annual Walden Ridge Marching Festival

Walden Ridge Marching Festival to be held on October 23, 2021.

Harriman High School  

We will continue the tradition of hosting both an unscored festival in the early afternoon followed by a scored competition in the evening. Bands who choose to do both will have the opportunity to hear judges tapes from the festival before competing. 

Adjudication 

A panel of three judges will evaluate each band’s performance in the caption of Music Performance, Music Effect, Marching Performance, Visual Effect, General Effect. This will affect the bands overall score and placement.
Percussion, Color Guard, and Drum Major will be judged, scored, and placed by separate judges.

All judges will be in the pressbox and will use Tennessee Bandmasters Association scoring sheets.

Any band taking more than 15 minutes from field entry to exit will be docked 2 points from their final tabulated score. 

Competition
Along with scores, 1st and 2nd place trophies will be awarded to the highest scoring bands and captions in each class. Caption awards will be given for percussion, color guard, and drum major. All bands will be acknowledged for their performance during awards.  Scoring is as follows:
Superior- Grade I: 80-100
Excellent- Grade II: 65-79 
Good- Grade III: Below 65 

Class Divisions 
A: 1-24 players          AA: 25-49 players AAA: 50-80 players   AAAA: 81+ players 

Fees 
For bands participating in either the festival or competition ONLY, entry is $75. For bands participating in both, entry is $100. Please make checks out to “Harriman Band Aides, Inc” and mailed to:

Concessions will be served throughout the day, and each band will have a photograph taken in the gym following their performance.

Photographs will be available for purchase at a tent near concessions. 

Gate Entry
All performers, staff, and a limited number of 10 pit crew will be given free entry through the gates. All other audience members will be required to pay for entry through the gates.
