Roane County Employer's Association - Powerful Public Speaking

Please join us for lunch on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, for:
Powerful Public Speaking
Presenter, Betsy Cunningham, Y-12 Federal Credit Union

Glossophobia is the medical term for the strong fear of public speaking and according to several surveys, the fear of public speaking is even greater than the fear of death.

You likely do not fear public speaking more than death, but you may have a few “butterflies” before speaking in public. Being a little nervous is normal and by learning the keys to public speaking, nonverbal techniques, and practice, you can become a powerful public speaker.

Betsy Cunningham has been a Dale Carnegie Instructor for the last 25 years and has facilitated many classes focusing on Communication and Human Relations Skills. She is certified to facilitate the High Impact Presentation Program which trains presenters and speakers to become more powerful and persuasive in their delivery to achieve impactful results.

Please join Betsy as she shares her knowledge and experience about Powerful Public Speaking:

  • Discover the 10 keys to be successful in public speaking
  • Learn the importance of Nonverbal Communication techniques
  • Become more effective at challenging others to take action.

About the Roane County Employers’ Association (RCEA):
The RCEA holds eleven monthly meetings, the second Tuesday of the month, which include lunch and information about some aspect of workforce or human resources issues to keep the members up to date on the many issues facing people doing business in Roane County today. The group also provides a good opportunity for professional development training, and to meet and network with others in Roane County. Usually in the month of May, a twelfth event is held in conjunction with an annual 1/2–day Human Resources Legal Seminar; RCEA members receive a $15 discount to attend.
RCEA annual dues for a RCEA membership is $140.00; the cost for each additional member attending a meeting is $15.00. Organizations that are Roane County Chamber of Commerce members at the Executive or Professional level, have one RCEA membership included with their Chamber membership. (To learn more about joining the Chamber, click here.)

The fee for non-members to attend is $20 per person. However, the first-time an organizational representative attends a meeting, he or she will be our guest. If you are not a member, please consider joining the Roane County Employers’ Association.
